The Effect of Motivation on Employees Performance

Human resource management aims to boost employee morale and productivity by improving employee job satisfaction since it determines how hard employees are willing to work for an organization. Therefore, organizations have goals that can only be reached by motivating their employees to provide the necessary results hence most of the employees require a sense of purpose and drive in order to perform at their best. In order to get motivated with the work at their best, most employees require some type of incentives hence some employees are driven by money, while others are more interested in recognition and rewards. Therefore, employee productivity is directly linked with the amount of employee motivation in the workplace since workers that are enthused about their professions to do their duties to the best of their abilities, resulting in an increase in the organizational output.

Employee motivation is viewed as a driving factor for the organization's aims and objectives since every company seeks to maximize its resources. A person's motivation is affected by biological, intellectual, social, and emotional variables and every individual has activities, events, people, and goals in their lives that inspire them. The importance of motivation cannot be overstated in the management process hence all the human resource management practices need to be effective in motivating employees to make a positive impact on the achievement of the organization's goals. Employee motivation is one of the main duties that any manager needs to fulfill hence using motivation as a tool to energize employees is a smart move in human resource management hence the motivated employees lead to improve organizational performances effectively.

Strategies to Improve Employee Motivation 

  • Implement Performance Goals
One of the best ways to keep employees motivated and engaged is to set performance targets and provide rewards such as bonuses, gifts or even promotions. 
  • Recognize Positive Attitudes
People that are effective and proactive in their work should be rewarded  
  • Invest In Training
In order to boost employee productivity and motivation, training is a critical instrument to be used in the management toolbox. Regardless of one's field of work, it is essential to take professional trainings which will result to increase employee job satisfaction. 
  • Provide Open and Transparent Communication Channels
Employees should feel free to bring up any concerns they have with their human resources department and the organization must be aware of potential difficulties, worries, and frustrations of employees so that they may be addressed before they have a detrimental influence on it. 
  • Provide Constant Feedbacks
Using these feedback loops, an employee may learn which portions of their job are successful and which parts needs to be improved. 
  • Encourage teamwork
Innovative solutions can be generated by collaborating with people who possess a variety of distinct skill sets and can encourage employees who are lack of motivation by their peers.
